Abstract :It is estimated that 30 billion downloads of 650,000 application programmes have taken place in Apple's App Store from July 2008 to June 2012. Growth in mobile apps downloads will overtake web downloads in the near future. The adoption rate for iOS and Android today is ten times greater than PC adoption at that technology's rapid-growth phase in the 1980s [1]. This trend should not be ignored for those in the construction industry where tablets are expected to be increasingly used. A notable difference between mobile apps and computer software lies in the pricing. The annotation feature available in some mobile apps allows quick snapshots of the application being loaded, and to view images or digital photographs. Mark ups and comments can be added and emailed directly to colleagues and clients. Mobile apps developers are expected to create increasingly more tools to make life easier for the construction supply value chain. How this information, generated from mobile apps, can be organized for systematic and easy retrieval will be discussed, particularly, for project team collaboration. Quantity Surveyors will have to play a more leading role in the development of simple apps that will enhance their contribution in the construction industry.

摘要:据估计,2008年7月至2012年6月期间,苹果应用商店(Apple's App Store)的650,000个应用程序下载量高达300亿次。在不久的将来,移动应用程序下载量的增长将超过网络下载量。相比20世纪80年代的技术快速增长时期,当前iOS系统和安卓系统(Android)的普及率高达当时PC普及率的10倍[1].在建筑行业中平板电脑的使用将日益普遍,因此对建筑行业的从业人员来说,这一普及率趋势不容忽视。移动应用程序与计算机软件之间的一大明显差异在于定价。一些移动应用程序所具有的注解功能(annotation)支持加载应用程序快速拍照及图像和电子照片浏览。此外,还可以添加标记和注释,并将该文件直接发送给同事和客户。移动应用程序开发人员应开发更多的工具,使建筑供应价值链更为便捷。本文将对如何组织移动应用程序产生的信息,从而实现系统、方便的检索,尤其是项目团队协作方面展开讨论。造价工程师必将在简单应用程序的开发与发展中发挥更大的主导作用,从而为建筑行业作出更大的贡献。
