The aim of this study was to identify the impact of the construction project managers' communication skills on the success of the thirteen construction project management areas. Communication is an area of Project Management， but actually the mean to achieve the deliverable objectives. Communication integrates and links elements together.
Method： A research questionnaire was circulated to construction project managers， architects， construction managers， engineers and quantity surveyors. The focus of the questionnaire was on the communication skills of a construction project manager in terms of importance to the successful management of projects. The results of the survey were compiled and analysed.
The results of this research illustrate which areas of construction project management are impacted most by the communication skills of project managers. The skills that contribute to successful communication were indicated in the results of the research.
The conclusion of this study is to identify those communication skills that are important for the construction industry. Developers and construction companies should pay more attention to the development of project managers' communication skills， and with the continuous training of project managers， the construction industry will benefit and improve the successful outcome of projects.

摘要
研究宗旨：本文旨通过十三个工程项目管理方面的成功案例，探讨工程项目经理的沟通技能。沟通是项目管理范畴，但却是实现可交付目标的关键。工程项目经理需要通过沟通将各种要素相互整合、互相关联。
研究方法：向工程项目经理、建筑师、项目经理、工程师以及造价工程师发放调查问卷，该问卷重点关注了项目经理的沟通技巧对影响项目管理成败的重要程度，并对调查结果进行了汇总分析。
研究结果：用图解的形式展示了哪些项目管理领域对于项目经理的沟通技能影响最大。研究的结论部分对成功的沟通技能予以描述。
研究结论：本研究结论列明了对于工程项目管理领域至关重要的沟通技能。开发商和建筑企业应更加注重项目经理沟通技能的培养，通过对项目经理的培训，建筑行业将从中受益，并提高项目的运行效果。
